Hot & Sour Soup

500ml Hot & Sour Soup Concentrate
 
homemade vegetable stock ǀ soy sauce ǀ sesame oil ǀ chilli oil ǀ black vinegar ǀ brown sugar ǀ cassia bark ǀ star anise ǀ fennel seeds ǀ bay leaves ǀ sichuan peppercorns ǀ  salt 
 
A classic dish from Shaanxi province of China, that showcases one of the most loved flavour combinations of the people from that region: hot & sour. Made with a vegetable broth base and flavoured with DumplingD's Homemade Chilli Oil for heat and chinkiang vinegar (black vinegar) spiced with cassia bark, star anise, bay leaves, fennel seeds and sichuan peppercorns, for sourness. 
 
Dilute the hot & sour soup concentrate with water and customise by adding cooked dumplings or wontons, more chilli oil, sesame oil, freshly chopped coriander, spring onion and toasted sesame seeds.
